Apparent Terms of Service

Effective October 23, 2026
Apparent is a service operated by GET CIMIENTO LLC.

Apparent was previously known as FamilyCues and is the same service operated by GET CIMIENTO LLC. References to FamilyCues in the text-message provisions and SMS Terms refer to the legacy SMS program for this service. This update reflects the service name; the substantive terms remain unchanged.

1. Apparent Service
Apparent helps users process selected school and activity emails, identify relevant information, organize reminders, and send authorized text notifications.
Apparent is an organizational assistant. It is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any school district unless expressly stated.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into an agreement to create an Apparent account.
You are responsible for providing accurate information; protecting account credentials; maintaining authorized access to connected Gmail accounts; ensuring you are authorized to add caregivers and teen recipients; keeping contact and payment information current; and reviewing important information against the original source.
Children under 13 may not create accounts or receive direct Apparent text messages.
3. Email Access
You authorize Apparent to access and process selected Gmail messages and supported attachments as described in the Privacy Policy. You must have the legal right to connect each email account and process the selected messages. You may disconnect Gmail at any time, but doing so may prevent Apparent from creating future reminders.
4. Reminder Accuracy
Apparent uses automated systems and artificial intelligence. Results may be incomplete, delayed, duplicated, or incorrect. Apparent does not guarantee that it will identify every message, attachment, date, deadline, requirement, cancellation, or schedule change.
You remain responsible for reviewing original school and activity communications and independently confirming urgent, safety-related, transportation, medical, payment, and deadline information.
5. Text Messages
FamilyCues sends text messages only to recipients who have provided applicable consent. Message frequency varies and may include multiple messages per day depending on the user's settings and school activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance.
Additional terms appear in the FamilyCues SMS Terms, which are incorporated into these Terms.
6. Free Trial and Subscriptions
Apparent may offer a 14-day free trial. A valid payment method may be required before the trial begins. Unless canceled before the displayed trial-end date, Apparent will automatically charge the selected subscription price when the trial ends. Subscriptions automatically renew monthly or annually according to the selected plan until canceled.
You can cancel through the Billing screen. Cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless otherwise stated.
7. Promotional Pricing and Partner Codes
Apparent may offer promotional pricing through discount or promotion codes, including codes distributed by partner school organizations. Promotional pricing applies only where a valid code is applied at checkout, and the discount, duration and eligibility of each code are stated at the time it is applied.
Where a promotional rate depends on the subscription remaining continuously active, that condition is shown before purchase. If a subscription is canceled, expires, or remains unpaid beyond an applicable recovery period, a promotional rate may be lost, and a later subscription may be offered at then-current pricing. Customers who subscribed under an earlier price keep that price for as long as their subscription remains active.
8. Acceptable Use
You may not access another person's email account without authorization; use Apparent for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity; upload malicious software or unsafe files; attempt to bypass security or plan limits; interfere with Apparent's systems; reverse engineer the service except where prohibited by law; use Apparent to send spam or unauthorized messages; or misrepresent consent from another recipient.
9. Third-Party Services
Apparent depends on services provided by Google, mobile carriers, messaging providers, payment processors, hosting providers, and other vendors. Apparent is not responsible for interruptions, changes, delays, blocking, filtering, or errors caused by third-party services.
10. Availability and Changes
Apparent may change, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for security, compliance, maintenance, technical requirements, or product improvements. Apparent does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
11. Intellectual Property
Apparent and its software, branding, interface, and original content are owned by Apparent or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Apparent during an active trial or subscription.
12. Disclaimer
Apparent is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. Apparent disclaims warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or able to identify every relevant communication.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Apparent will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including damages arising from missed messages, incorrect reminders, school decisions, transportation changes, deadlines, or reliance on automated results.
To the extent permitted by law, Apparent's total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount the user paid Apparent during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to every user.
14. Suspension and Termination
Apparent may suspend or terminate an account for nonpayment, unlawful activity, security risk, abuse, violation of these Terms, or conduct that harms Apparent, users, or service providers. Users may stop using Apparent and cancel their subscriptions at any time.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
16. Changes
Apparent may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the website, dashboard, email, or another reasonable method.
